Tsinghua Sanya International Mathematics Forum (TSIMF)

A message from Professor Shing-Tung Yau, Harvard University:

I have been working since 2010 to establish a world-class international conference center in mathematics, Tsinghua Sanya International Mathematics Forum (TSIMF), in Sanya, Hainan, China. I am excited to report that, under the strong support of Tsinghua University, Hainan Provincial Government, and Sanya City Government, the construction of the buildings and facilities will be completed and ready for use before September 2013.

TSIMF's facilities are built on a 140-acre land located at Phoenix Hill of Phoenix Township of Sanya City. It is surrounded by pristine environment. The total square footage of all the facilities is over 28,000 square meter  that includes state-of the art conference facilities (over 9,000 square meter) to hold two international workshops simultaneously, a large library, a guest house with 200 large guest rooms and the associated catering facilities, an Olympic size swimming pool, two tennis courts and other recreational facilities.

The mission of TSIMF is to become a base for scientific innovations and nurturing of young mathematical talents, through the many activities at TSIMF that promote interaction between leading researchers in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, theoretical physics, applied physics, theoretical biology and other relating disciplines. TSIMF will provide a platform for international cooperation to explore new directions, develop new methods in mathematical sciences and raise the level of mathematics research in China and in the world.

To celebrate this special occasion, the International Conference at Tsinghua Sanya International Mathematics Forum (TSIMF) for the inauguration of all the buildings and facilities at Sanya, China, will be held on 18-19 December 2013. Immediately following the Conference are three workshops featuring the works of Bao Chau Ngo, Yakov Sinai, and Clifford Taubes, on 20-22 December 2013.

The conference and workshops are by invitation only.
