Mission Statement
- The E-SCV Consortium shall seek to promote the development and strengthening of Several Complex Variables (SCV) and related areas of Mathematics among its European member groups.
- The Consortium shall also seek to promote bilateral exchanges with the SCV groups in Greater China (i.e., Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan), members of the Consortium organized by Mathematical Sciences Center at Tsinghua University in Beijing.
- The Consortium will organize conferences in Europe and will participate in conferences in Greater China. The hope is that this will create personal contacts and lead to bilateral exchanges.
- The Consortium will put special emphasis on the training of advanced undergraduate students, masters students, PhD students and Postdocs.
- The Consortium recognizes the value of Emeriti Professors to younger people and will include these in activities.
- The Consortium will be co-directed by a member of the board of the IMF-MSC MoU from NTNU, Trondheim, and a member of the SCV group at the Mathematics Department, University of Ljubljana. Administration will be shared by NTNU and Ljubljana with assistance of secretarial staff at MSC.
- The basic document for this collaboration is the Memorandum of Understanding,
MoU E-SCV, signed in January 2013 by University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, and Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Mechanics, Ljubljana, Slovenia, and by NTNU, Trondheim, Norway. The other E-SCV member groups were invited to cosign.
- The basic document for the collaboration with the Chinese SCV Consortium is the Memorandum of Understanding,
MoU MSC-NTNU, signed in June 2012 by Mathematical Sciences Center, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and the Mathematics Department, IMF, at NTNU, Trondheim, Norway.
